Though not sure if brown hoods are available for this brake, which would sent me back to the drawing board with the saddle and bar tape conundrum.

Actually, if you want new levers with brown hoods there aren't many options beyond the Cane Creek SCR-5C. Or you could get a pair of SRAM S500/S900 and some brown Hudz (they call the brown colour 'gold') but they're not a classic-looking lever at all.

And with any of them you're unlikely to match the colour of the tape. :)
