When importing from outside the EU you need to allow for:-
1) Import duty of 4.7% on bicycle parts, which is applied to (cost-of-goods + shipping-cost), and
2) VAT of 20% which is applied to (cost-of-goods + shipping-cost + import-duty)
3) If the final delivery service in the UK is ParcelForce then they add another £8.50 (or thereabouts) as 'Admin Fee'.
Sometimes packages attract the attentions of HM Custons & Excise, and sometimes they don't. Best to cater for worst case though. :(
