  • Even in the time of internet and instant information, today's report of the Alakazam vs. Mighty Beasts game still comes one week late. Enjoy accordingly.
Four teams had assembled on that brisk Sunday morning for two hours of blistering polo competition. First up was Alakazam, minus Jess and Lebowski, while the Mighty Beasts were running full and strong. I don't really remember much of the game but I will quote the great Rasheed Wallace to sum it up: "Both teams played hard."

    Cam 1:47, 0-1
    Josh 2:19, 1-1
    Cam 4:24, 1-2
    Josh 5:34, 2-2
Cam 7:55, assisted by Alexis, 2-3
    Cam 8:19, 2-4
    Josh 9:10, 3-4
    Cam 11:45, 3-5
    Ali 13:45, 3-6
    John H 16:55, 4-6
    John H 19:55, 5-6
    Cam 27:35, 5-7
    John H 28:12, assisted by Zoe, 6-7
    Cam 28:26, 6-8

    Halftime

    Josh 31:57, 7-8
    Ali 35:45, 7-9
    Cam 36:30, 7-10
    Ali 43:21, 7-11
    Ali 44:39, 7-12
    Josh 45:15, 8-12
    Josh 46:13, 9-12
    Zoe 47:00, 10-12
    Josh 51:10, 11-12
Cam 52:00, assisted by Josh's own goal, 11-13
    Ali 54:39, 11-14
    Cam 55:30, 11-15
    Josh 55:40, 12-15
    Josh 57:00, 13-15
    Cam 57:47, 13-16
    Cam 58:44, 13-17

Mighty Beasts did a good job of pushing a lead all game, but Alakazam! always found a way to come back. Towards the end of the game the Mighty Beasts had a 5-point lead, but Alakazam! brought it back to within one and momentum looked like it was swinging their way until an attempt at defense by Josh put the ball into their own goal. This promptly started a whack-a-thon by Cam that could not miss. 13-17 in Mighty Beasts favor.
