i guess you're sniped out pretty often, aren't you? "4 secs" is eternity for ebay, my friend, even for real people, not to mention sniping software
No actually?
For a human, if I place a bid and I'm the top bidder, it it very unlikely that they'll be able to revise their bid in that time?
Although if the max bid is above mine, doesn't matter when it's bid before or after (by snipe software) then I'll lose and won't be bothered because it's out of my price range.I must say I've never used sniping software so am a luddite in that respect.

if you think about it, having a higher bid already typed in the window, all you need to do is click the mouse - you can do that even within 1 second

Yeah that is true, I've not had too much of an issue so far though.
Maybe I'll go down to 2 seconds :p

In my experience, biding in the last 10 sec is very tricky. Ebay seems to react very slow or not at all in the last secs. I place my final bid approx 20 sec before ending. Otherwise I risk that my bid isn't processed anymore. Waiting till the last 4 secs is too much of a risk imho.

Maybe this is a bargain, maybe it isn't. Looks like it, but I know nothing.
http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/FRSAALIC/sab_alicudi_carbon_frame_and_forkwell, those sorts of generic crabon frames are available direct from China for appx 350, but then there's the risk of full import duty; so 399 is nearer the mark than 1493

I've had eBay freeze / phone freeze / laptop freeze / ebay log me out / change the ammount I've entered to bid etc... so always try and bid with around 10 seconds to go, sometimes less if web is acting reliable. It has been fucking frustrating when it's frozen and items have gone for less than my bid.

A lot of decent frames here going relatively cheap, especially if he's open to a bit of negotiation.

Along the same (Stronglight) lines, this looks reasonable, why so cheap?
I'm not saying I know of any reason why it should be more... maybe I should say what makes this only worth £18? Is it heavy/rubbish?
