Due to my pathological hatred of public transport I will probably ride out to St Mary's Cray riding from south (Vauxhall/Oval) so if anyone else fancies doing that let me know and we can get lost, I mean go there together. I've never been to SMC before but how hard can it be.....

And shame you're fixie-ing it Corlis as I've still yet to see you spangly Bottecchia, did you ever find any vintage Bottecchia jerseys?

Basically it's Lewisham Way, up Eltham Hill, turn right at the top by the church. Then hang another right down the A224, or at the next rdbt if you miss it. I may ride out, see how lazy I'm feeling that day.

Unfortunately they only seem to make Bottecchia jerseys in Heffersize.

Am surprised at the jersey searching dead ends, most of the jerseys I came scross when searching for a Denti one were in ickle sizes and thought myself mega lucky to get one in heffer size. Will let you know if I ever see any Bottecchia ones in your size.

maybe out as I sold my road bike and I don't think I want to do it (and possibly can't) on my only fixed with a brake, and this doesn't seem like a ride for brakless fixie skidders

I'm sure you could do it fixed. I wouldn't recommend teh brakless, though. There are one or two steep descents, probably around 15%, and I don't think the winter lanes will aid the brakless rider's cause. Not that I'm doubting your abilities, but all three of the brakless riders I've seen ride this kind of terrain have fallen off. #giveabrakethisxmas
