  • I emailed Harvey about winter balls. He's out of stock and not getting more due to the lack of demand and the number of balls ^he needs to order makes it unviable. He suggested franklins yellows which from the small amount of googling I've done are £20 each Inc shipping.

  • as i allmost took shanes head off ,id chip in some brass :¬)

  • Those NA Mylec winter balls have arrived. Playing souths tomorrow will let you know how they do.

  • please , can i buy some?

  • My balls are feeling pretty wintery... Dutch auction*?

    • I don't even know what that means...
  • Start from a high price and the auctioneer will lower the price till someone bids, also known as first bid wins. Not to be confused with the auctioneer lowering the opening bid to garner interest in a conventional auction.

  • One pound!

  • Sold...

  • I've got 4. They weren't expensive. £14 or something. They feel really squishy right now (the house is 20º). We ought to try em' out tonight. If they're good then we can split them between captains and order more. Would suck to play a league game and not be able to finish because of a cracked ball.

  • From the tests we've done, it's not cold enough in London for the proper winter balls to be playable, they are still too sticky/squishy at 0 deg/ -1 deg.

  • The Magic balls are now in stock, really pleased with how they've turned out, can't wait to see them on court.

    "Cool" balls in green
    "Warm" balls in pink

I'll post some pictures later, and add them to the shop.

    £2.50 each
    £22.50 for 10
    £50 for 25

  • Does the green match the heads?

  • Any temperature range for the 'cool' balls H Bomb ?

We split open a pink, a red and a white at Newington last Wednesday in the cold.

  • you split 3 balls kev. Impressive thats 2009 stats.

  • I tested them in the range from about 0-20, and they were fine, above 20 they start to get soft.

They aren't designed for below zero, we have tested a sub-zero ball, but we couldn't have got it in time for this winter, and didn't want to sit on so many balls that wouldn't get sold for another 9 months, so we'll do them in the autumn.

Saying that, these should be fine to play with below zero, just they will be more likely to split than a true sub-zero ball.

  • We split open a pink

    FNAR.

but also, there were RV warm pinks and RV winter pinks...

  • great work guys, gotta get me some of those!

  • great to have the info on there and the logo looks great too.

  • thanks!

  • they look great, guys.

  • nice one ,,i want 10 of those

  • Dredge.

We've started playing with an orangey ball, I think it's from street hockey. A bit lighter than polo, and a bit harder. Seems to stand up to the heat A LOT better than a polo ball and makes the game more fun - faster passes, bigger shots, more speed overall.

Is there any room for experimentation with weights/densities at tournaments? They are mostly in the summer, and often the balls are warm, soft and squidgy which really fucks up the game IMO.

Although I haven't been to any this summer, so maybe the problem is fixed?

  • no fixed yet

  • We need some Harvey extra hots... Best balls ever...

The Brissy kids also have some ace hot weather balls...
