Im looking into my possible build and having never run threadless before im confused
you guys have 45/45 integrated, does this mean theres no chris king headsets http://chrisking.com/headsets/hds_inset that fit this type?
Whats the most common fork style thats going to match up easiest, I would like a chris king headset though..

King ain't a fan of integrated, maybe because it makes things weaker, maybe because it's difficult to charge £60 for a pair of seal bearings, a topcap and a crown race. If you want chris king bling then get a traditional threadless set up. The ones you linked to are semi-integrated jobbies.

Or £100 for cane creek???

I need to do some research..

Integrated work fine, most headsets for sale are the same bearings and a crownrace, compression ring and topcap, pay more or less depending on what you want those to look like. I'm guessing the mega expensive ones use different bearings, I'd be surprised if there are massive differences though.

We are looking to organise a bulk order through the forum up here. Think there's about half a dozen or so of us interested in getting one.
make that 7, I`m so down for getting in on the act, with a new frame (or two) after reading this thread for a while, (still got some way to go) I have to admit guys, I am a complete novice on the whole bike building/projects thing, so please bear with my ignorance, and the odd daft question re: sizing, geometry, parts, etc
but i`m defo in, I will have a read back over the last couple of pages, but has anyone started a list for this new bulk order yet ???

Non-existent Bike Mielec January Order Thread
I keep thinking there's actual news!

I am about to order one myself.
I haven't seen any cheap/copy track carbon forks that would look good with an external headset. Any good ideas?

Aliexpress has crabons.

Fly make the nicest headset imo. Wedge and dustcover all one piece and apparently the bearings are stronger (Other intergrateds i've had get creaky as fuck after a while and these generally don't)
also slam dat stem is possible

Doesn't that mean there's a gap in the cover? Fail at coverage.
-
• #1442
It's a compression ring too.

Just buy an FSA. It uses the same Taiwanese bearings as a lot of other headsets. Comes standard fit on Giants, mine has lasted me years.
