  • This makes my heart heavy. Genuinely a lovely guy with a calming vibe. Last time I spoke to him he seemed happy about the move (maybe I was jealous) but this is a terrible shocker :(((((((((((((

Hope it is ok to leave this here: C.A.L.M

  • Damn! I just heard about this. He was a proper gent at all times and I will miss seeing him at forum drinks and other lfgss events.

  • Did anyone else think he had a knack for just turning up out the blue. Like I never met him anywhere conventional it was always random.

I remember the day of the women's Olympic race, I was standing in the rain on Box Hill, drenched, watching the big screen. I turn to my left and there he was just grinning at me. My friends and I got the train home that day, he rode in the torrential rain back.

  • I also saw this on Facebook, I think it's terribly sad.

Steff was a great guy, as everyone has said he was always an interesting, charming chap to bump into.

  • RIP Steff. Such a cool guy. Gonna miss you man

  • We need to talk more.

    This.

And don't fuck about with depression thread either.

  • Oh man.

    Rest in peace.

  • Tragic news. RIP

  • Devastated to hear this. He was such a lovely guy. And so talented with the IT wizardry and the framebuilding and the charming. RIP.

  • RIP
I only met him once but found him a really nice guy. remember him telling me about the frame he built.

  • RIP, LFGSSteff

  • Oh Man, Such a nice guy. I had many good chats with him. Away you go my man, see you on the heavy side.

  • if only that what he missed most in this life will be there for him, where he is now. i miss his thoughts on things, the way his ideas could make you feel better. his contagious love for bikes - for the details and the suffering - far exceed mine.

i feel so sorry, endlessly sorry, to have met you and failed to be a friend... one that could have talked you out of it...

  • Sad loss of a fantastic guy. Wish I'd spent more time in his company.
    Thoughts to all involved. Rip.

  • RIP Steff, what a lovely bloke.

  • RIP Steff, I had the pleasure of meeting you on a fair few occasions during my time in London and its very sad to know that I will never have the pleasure again.

  • very sad. RIP Steff

  • Didn't know him but this is very sad. Sorry for those who lost a friend.

  • ^ ditto - very sad to hear someone so young taking their life

  • didn't know , but RIP

  • Didn't know the lad either but I'm certain it wasn't all meant to end like this. RIP!

  • Poor guy. It shouldn't get this bad for someone. RIP Steff.

  • Echoes others sentiments, I never met Steff but it's still very sad news. RIP.

  • RIP, Steff - wasa good ride we had and I can still recall the conversation we had about Italian Cyclists - can see you now having a beer with Bartali...

  • Didn't really know him but this is very sad :(
