  • Yes.

10% of forum donations are forwarded to cycle related causes (not necessarily registered charities, LCEF and others have benefited in the past).

This happens irregularly, whenever I remember I go look at old records, calculate what it should be now and then take care of it. I generally wait for triggers so that it accrues into more meaningful amounts.

I'll buy the flowers from existing money, so no need to specifically donate into a flower fund for it.

Cool. I've donated to the forum instead (as that was something I should have taken care of anyway!)

donated, have been meaning to for ages

Sorry, must have missed this. Will put in an extra pint, or flower, as the case might be.

  • I just watched it, thought it was reasonable enough. Yeah the Ally Cats stuff is unfair, but I've never seen anyone get out of a car and punch a cyclist in real life either.

My balls nearly went through the floor when I saw that HGV pulling out on the guy on the roundabout.

  • Usual extreme views but I would like to have seen more explanation of why cyclists have to position themselves on the road to avoid being squashed.

Can't help thinking Gareth bordered on antagonising behaviour to get footage, that "YYess" he shouted out when finally overtaken was shouted with a bit too much relish, there is taking the lane and then taking the piss :/

  • While I obviously find it difficult for me to view this program as a non-cyclist, I can well imagine a few poor souls who might have been discouraged from taking up cycling to work by it.

I think many will have their negative views about cycling reinforced by this poorly presented "documentary", when they should be able to see it as something that any fit & able person is capable of doing with a certain degree of safety :-(

After 60 minutes of near constant negativity ( Cynthia Barlow excluded ) it made me glad I don't cycle regularly in London.

Even though I've ridden in London loads of times over the years, with no incidents whatsoever :-/

  • They could have showed how someone who lives in zone 3 and works in central London could save £130 a month by cycling. They could have highlighted how a rise in numbers has made things safer, I mean did you really feel encouraged to cycle by that programme? They could have done some proper reporting like a proper documentary that isn't just You tube clips and covered real stories like how the cops allowed Eilidh Cairns killer to kill again, or Thames Materials and Dennis Putz, a man who'd been banned from driving 16 times and got a job driving a lorry in London. Ask who insured him and did his employers know. Proper investigating journalism.

This wasn't proper investigating journalism, it was tawdry and cheap and not helpful, a lot of it was "Look at this idiot" when maybe it would be better to look at what actually makes roads safer. And it isn't a whistle.

I wish my wife didn't watch it. She now wants me to stop cycling to work. Great

  • I wouldn't stress about this making things worse... there's probably an episode of Embarrassing Bodies or Snog, Marry, Avoid or similar dross on another channel so no-one will be watching this.

  • I did not watch the programme but I am outraged and appalled by it anyway because I'm a bandwagon-jumping hipster. I have already ordered my whistle.

  • ^^ Did I miss Embarrassing bodies for that!

    Wasn't all bad then.

    Done

If we had been calling out bad cyclists for a few years we wouldn't have had the BBC do it for us

  • if we had been calling out bad cyclists for a few years we wouldn't have had the bbc do it for us

    shut up!

  • @ dglshrn Why is he being a troll? Thats a perfectly reasonable point of view.

I would like to see BFF refuse to have any more of Brunelle's films screened, at least in London anyway.
Its the cycling equivalent of boy racers doing illegal joyriding through suburbs and posting their dumb, dangerous, macho videos on youtube.
Fuck him and the people that ride like that. I dont care how much of a 'line' you think you see between pedestrians.

Fuck you.The BFF was built on courier culture, like this site was and your poxy stick hockey.I'll come to your polo meets at kids' playground's and have it out with you if you fancy it.Fucking polo nerd.

  • Bang the van, slap the cyclist, what this thread needs is more testosterone.

  • ^ Animal thread >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    ;-)

Come off it John, alleycats are fucking stupid and always have been. Most of us never rode in them and weren't too impressed with the people who did.

Couriers just commercialised everything, trying to make a quick buck out of the purity of riding fakenger style.

Did I say they weren't stupid?

  • Maybe I misinterpreted your comment.

I'll write a poem about it one day.

  • Again with the copying fakenger culture.

  • Maybe I misinterpreted your comment.

    I thunked the same.

  • The programme did score highly though in not featuring Buffalo Bill, almost unheard of in badly made documentaries or ill-informed articles.
