Does anyone still go to Brick Lane Bikes? I've avoided the place for years.
"Fixed gear culture" always makes me wretch.
"Pot Noodle cuisine".
EDIT: I don't think there's actually anything wrong with the video to be honest. Maybe it's a bit too close to the bone for some people...

Priceless!

Pioneers in the sense that they jumped on the 'fixie' bandwagon pre 2008?

Priceless!
Ha, I walked right into that didn't I.
BLB was always an absolute last resort because the shite products, cunty attitude and feeling of being ripped off really didn't do it for me.

"East London seems to have been a bit of a... the birthplace of fixed gear and single-speed bikes, if you like. And I can't help thinking that Brick Lane Bikes had something to do with that. It's a mecca..."

You know what, say what you like about BLB, but it's my local bike shop, and over the years I've bought a fair few things in there.
Service can sometimes be a little abrupt, but I don't mind that, generally I know what I want when I go in there. But other times I've hung around and had a friendly chat with them.
And when you go to other fixed specialist bike shops round Europe, what do you see there? BLB products. So they must be doing something right.

I lugged my old Hoover down to BLB because it needed a new clip to keep the electric lead in place and the chap there told me, and this is word for word, to "fuck off". I think that says everything there is to say about that so-called 'bike shop'.

Fixed gear hoover?

I don't get it, why did you have to take the hoover with you? Harsh response though (although I did chuckle)
wow. what a shower of try-hard simpering self regarding tossers.
