I'm sorting out an old GT Tequesta MTB that's becoming a polo bike. It has U-Brake mounts on the rear stays so have gone out and purchased a set of Evoke U-Brakes to put on it.
The left arm is mounting fine and happily springs outwards from the rim as all good brake arms should. The right arm, however, just isn't playing the same game. I'm mounting it at it's maximum extension but as soon as I get to the point where the bolt is tightening the arm onto the frame it spring in towards the rim and sits slack with 4-5mm clearance on the pads. As soon as pressure is applied through the brake lever it just sits rubbing on the rim and releasing the brake lever causes the transverse cable to disengage.

Any advice or have I bought some duff brakes?
