I decided not to risk my planned excursion NNWwards, knowing from painful and expensive experience that you can't 'look out for' black ice, or 'ride cautiously' on it.
Did 50 miles indoors instead, 2/3 of it on the rollers. Hope to be out there next week though, regardless of possible ice (appropriately shod, of course).
