Having said that - something that struck me straight away - pointless, ignorant, harsh and often ill meant replies, as oppose to “friendly ribbing” seems to be a far greater problem than I would imagine stupid questions could ever be, but I guess that’s just the nature of LFGSS

Why the bad language is this forum not for real cyclist?

Don't be too easily put off Hutson. If you look over in rides & races or current projects then you'll see how passionate people on this forum are about their bikes and their riding. There's all sorts of cyclists on here from track cyclists, to time trialists, to mountain bikers & many more.

Folks can get a bit annoyed when new members appear to come on here only to sell stuff, while avoiding ebay fees. It can look like their not willing to make much of a contribution to the community.

Reading the "rules" is also advised, as is having a thick skin ;-)

Have a search through all the sub-forums & you'll see that thousands of questions have been both asked and answered already.

People swear in real life. They swear on this forum too. Hardly worth getting annoyed about.

I thought that at the first post. The following 2 made me think that it was perhaps more a lack of understanding.

Still, you've had to put up with this sort of thing for a lot longer than me. I'll probably soon be swearing at everyone too.

This stuff normally comes about by not bothering to use the search function, or jumping straight in trying to sell stuff, before you've even said hello.
