Does anyone recognise anything about this frame/bike? Ignore the "HP" sticker that is crudely replacing a badge. It came with 27" French Wheels (Maillard), Suntour mechs and shifters, and the bars are 'World Custom' Japan.
It seems to be a fairly cheap bike from the 70's to me. No Tubing stickers of any sort. Only a BB number '2236' on the underside of frame. Lugs look nice so I might strip it and give it a lease of life.
that brake bridge is very interesting

cos i thought "le french" bike looked like a CB ;-)

I had an Iko 650c carbon/kevlar front disc wheel with a similar weave pattern, which I haven't seen anywhere else. Iko was a West German wheel manufacturer, but I doubt they produced any other components? May give you some clue to tracking the seatpost's origin, though.

i agree the brake bridge makes it likely a nice frame

The head badge is Harry Perry of SE18, circa late 70's, but could well be a later addition.....

The head badge is late 70's Harry Perry of SE18, but the lugs suggest old and cheap Raleigh....

Looks rather like an Alu Team to me, but what does the small lettering on the top tube say (It's too small for me to read). If it is an Alu Team, the forks look to be maybe a later addition, the originals had steel forks like those from the Columbus Max frames.

i bought the frame and forks (including campa record piste hs and bb) for 60£now the brand i know, obviously :) but i want to know from what year the frame is and/or if it is a special version because the connecting piece between the rear seatstays is different then other guerciotti pista frames
thx in advance

I would suggest that's a campagnolo 50th anniversary brake bridge, and as such it might be one of these
£60 was a rip off, I'll give you £70, just because I'm feeling generous...

Anyone recognise this head badge?
Appears to have some form of 'wings' on the edge..... I feel that I know it from somewhere!
-
• #2774
Could be an old Hercules or Currys from the pre Raliegh days. Have upu checked out the head badges page(s)on velobase? Might throw something up...
That's going to annoy me now until I find/work it out......hmmm

My initial thought.... Condor used to have wings - not seen that shape though.....
Here's an old condor badge
Off the top of my head the only other ones I can think of wings include Bates (but they were batwings), and Falcon (complete bird).
If it was made by Johnny foreigner, you could also consider Bianchi.
There was also a chap called Hyman Hetchin - some of his bikes had wings on their headtube badges
And if you've time on your hands you can trawl through this lot here!!!

A friend made that suggestion too. Seems more likely now. Thanks for response.
