chris, it's a lovely bike, and if you could source mavic shifters and RD it would probably command a healthy price on collector's sites, or teh bay.

so this 'ding' is a dent in the frame, not just damage to the paint?

Yes please see reply #11 in thread, as shown in photo and described. Not so much a dent as a slight flattening of the tube about 1 cm. square and 1 mm. depression.

Hi, thought the above threads covered this? try these pics, and let me know if you need more...
As I said this is a straightforward repair to make perfect ( around £50-60)...to put in perspective; a new frame in this tube-set is over a grand...
New Mavic SSC gruppo is rare and expensive to find; e.g a set of NOS Starfish cranks go from £120-150+ if you're lucky enough to find them!
