but only specific colours are made double fixed and these are randomish, so they cost more and are harder to get hold of if that makes sense

black and silver are the most common double fixed

Just to update I got my double fixed high flange red phil today from Aspire - no import tax, they marked it down as $28 value :-D

The shipping on a hub from pro wheel builder is $124!!! WTF!!

On the off chance - I'll try Aspire - but does anyone know a nearer / quicker way to get hold of a pair or QR rear axle ends to space out an older Phil hub to 126mm? Or even if that exists (the ones explicitly labeled on the Aspire website are all 120 or 130).

Hate to say it but BLB are a distributor I believe. Could be wrong on that, but they carry most spares. They may have to order them in though.

Your right BLB are a distributor and have spares and they have just ordered a batch on PWH in within the last few weeks so you will be in luck. Its better to go into the shop than order over the phone if you can.
