i can't quite tell if you're harassing me or just like me too much?.. =))

here's what i had already in 2008, so who's setting trends and who's following? but you're right, plan is to rebuild this so i can get it posted here without it looking a bit like an retro-alien or smthn

  • Why is the Steamroller a SSCX?

  • did you look through the whole thread Ed? and was that the only question that raised your concern?

  • This is the only one with caliper brakes, unless I've missed out more.

  • Calipers are nice when the course doesn't include much mud.

  • CXWW is epic.

This is the only one with caliper brakes, unless I've missed out more.

I've seen a few people race old frames made 27" wheels running 700c wheels and tyres and longer drop calipers.

    Seemed to work well enough.

As it was said before, if the course isn't too muddy, it's fine.

Clearence-weenie'ing is the better CXWW [in CXWW you weigh the bike AFTER the ride].

  • excuse my ignorance..... but how come I can see gears? front mechs? isn't meant to be SS or they allow to use a geared bike as long as they dont use the gears?

  • You sure? it look very geared.

  • It's the same bike as used for the main event but with shifting disabled.

  • that make much more sense, cheer.

  • Yeah, what miro_o said.

Pretty sure the Rapha blog I linked explains what they did to the bikes to make them SS (Ican't open the page at work).
