I have decided to build a sturdy bike I can take off road, but equally bash around town…..a hybridised pub / CX bike. Something to see me from a hackney wick warehouse at 7am safely to my bed ………… or, off the beaten track, down a muddy country lane.
I have just purchased this 90's Diamant cyclocross frame. This Belgian beauty is winging it way from the Netherlands. Columbus tubing, not exactly sure what type.
I am thinking a re-spray: a neon pink fade into the existing banana yellow. Garish and 90’s.
This is the best I could do with my limited knowledge of paint programs. i know i know, pathetic.
Not sure of the exact build or components. Want to keep it retro-ish. Practical, robust and fast. Controversially maybe north-road bars instead of drops? Road/TT gear ratio, Single large chain ring. 32c tyres (panaracer). 7 speed. Bar end shifter?
As with most of my builds, I want to keep it ratty enough so I use it and not get too precious about it.
Any advice, ideas, thoughts or considerations?
