Right. Had quite a lot of interest, nothing concrete yet.
The first with £500 cash in my hand gets it.
I've taken some pics of my own. Sorry about the quality - I am not a photographer. I've tried to show the pitting on the forks an the worst of damage to the TT. Other than that paint is in great condition.
The no name headset could do with a regrease, is a little stiff. There is a slight dent on the front wheel which hardly noticeable and doesn't affect the ride.

Lovely!
FYI: those are 1st Generation Chorus Monoplaners, not Athena.

Bargain!
-
• #18
Scilly, thanks for the info. How can you tell? I was sold them as Athena!
Cheers TS - I was so tempted by your Master! That was a bargain!

Athena only had Monoplaners in '94 and '95. Campag put groupset names on components from '95 and '94 Athena had black O-rings on the cable adjusters and one-piece brake blocks & wheel guides.
The only other groupset to have Monoplaners pre-'95 was Chorus: 1st Gen. had white O-rings and wheelguide covers; 2nd Gen. had black O-rings and "naked" wheelguides.
The shape of the ends of the caliper arms is also different between 1st Gen. Chorus and all other variants.
+£75 for Chorus, compared to around £50 for Athena. These have gone up a lot over the last year and good condition examples, like yours, are sought after; fast catching-up with Deltas, presumably because they actually work...

^ Thanks for the info. Identifying components has always seemed like a dark art to me!
IIRC I think I got them for £60 off the bay - so a pretty rare bargain from eBay!
I'll include the pedals pictured - some old MKS Sylvan's with clips and straps so you can wheel it straight home!

If a concor is not to your liking, I can swap this out for a fairly mint Turbo saddle.
The choice is yours!
