if i dont know the phasing of the lights or i'm not sure how long they've been red I tend to filter until i find a bike sized gap in the traffic and stop there, not necessarily in primary but such that the car behind has full visibility of me if i'm near the kerb
it's fantastic how angry it makes the mamils on cs7 when they want to rlj and you stop 3 cars back. #doublewin
Exactly this. What winds people up even more is if there's a relatively large gap and you have to make a real effort to angle your bike to block it.

I find they generally tut loudly, pull out to filter on the right just as the lights change and they find themselves stuck in the middle of the road with cars undertaking them unable to filter back in.
as they say patience is a virtue.

As it's mr Griffin, I'm not that surprised

Sounds like he's just got it in for you personally, Ed.

I think if he were to find out that there are people out there who are deaf AND cyclists at the same time, his fat head would be almost at bursting point. The revelation that some of them are also women would probably be the trigger for a complete explosion.

Imagine if some of them were members of the green party, or Muslims!

What a massive, massive cock.
^^ I would totally chip in for a sexy lady wig so Ed could be the Waffer Thin Mint that finally finishes the cunt off.
-
• #710
kati would be the one to finish him off (female, deaf and cycle).
-
• #711
I imagine him waking up and desperately scrabbling for a pen to write down that epiphany

I have to admit that I agree with him on the tennis.
The "loud and acceptable level of grunting" is why I watch too. -

now they've ben sold perhaps the Carlyle Group won't be so mambee-pambee when it comes to cyclists.

• #715
Carlyle Group???????
Holy Fucking 1990's

when trying to avoid intake of Black Cab diesel fumes, i was thinking that AL could offer an air-quality advantage over the traditional but polluting taxi service;
how about some investment in hybrid engines CG?
then they could be driving non-polluting 'business expansion',

anyone know how to escalate an insurance claim via addison lee?
a driver broke a speaker whilst taking it from the car (something he apparently has since denied), i have 2 witnesses and will be taking it to small claims court, but just want to know if anyone has escalated something internally with them.. as currently i'm getting the normal company first line rejection spiel. -
• #718
You don't. You claim against the driver, and let him deal with it.
But my guess as that he would have an implied indemnity against anything not related to driving you around. He's a cabby, not a removals man.
-
• #719
ahh, fair enough.
well addison lee stated that the passenger is responsible for moving goods to and from vehicle, but the driver grabbed a speaker and dropped it.
and apologised and then said he will accept liability for it, then when i raised it with addison lee.. they claim he has denied it.

AL driver allegedly kicks a passenger out of his car for being gay.

"My BF and I got into a taxi from G-A-Y Late. Started holding hands and were told to get out, and called dirty.
"Thank you to everyone for your messages of support, they mean a lot. We're home now, after a very nice black taxi journey."
If you don't like gay people, don't pickup at G.A.Y.

If you don't like gay people, reconsider your prejudice and learn to embrace diversity.
fixed that for you.

• #723
that too.

Next to the text of that statement, the Addison Lee website offers a "white on black version".... Is there no limit to the depths of depravity this company will sink?

and a black on white. Also a photo of John Griffin. Not sure if these are related.
More like Paul Gadd-ison Lee, yeah?
