The whole story about Clattenburg apparently having said "I don't give a monkey's" is believable, both in that it sounds more feasible that a referee would say that than make an actual racist comment to a player within earshot of other players and the fellow officials, and that it is something that could be conceiveably misconstrued by someone with English as a second language.
I wonder if we'll ever find out the truth of it though. Sadly as it is it seems like a desperate attempt by a club captained by someone who admitted using racist language to try and garner a bit of sympathy.
They probably sacked RDM just to get the embarrassment of it all out of the press. Though I suppose the embarrassment at hiring Benitez isn't much better. I think if Terry wasn't still there, I'd actually feel sorry for Chelsea.
