  • We have a hole in the paint on our bathroom wall and our landlord is coming round to inspect the property next week. Do I:

    a) leave it, with the consequence that the landlord logs it and come moving out time we'll be stuck with a bill for repainting at least the whole wall.
    b) attempt to patch it up?

If the latter, how do I go about it? I'm assuming I get some sandpaper (not sure what weight??) and then sand down the edges (sanding inwards to avoid removing more paint), then get a little roller and apply new paint.

The wall was originally painted only just over a month ago and I have a small amout of the same paint that the builders left behind.

I've never done painting before. I'm fine when it comes to swinging an axe or chainsaw but somehow feel that either of those is likely to make the situation worse.
