when their records first came out some people thought the noise and crackle was just because they were badly pressed records, when the CD came out it was a proper "oh shit!?!!?!?" moment for some listeners, the noises were meant to be there
it was as if someone had dubbed dub music, echoes of echoes, so harsh, metallic and alien yet utterly full of soul and humanity - utterly paradoxical music
also the basic channel cd (no 1) is fucking amazing
