Lovely bike.

cheers!
rides as well as any Gazelle, Raleigh or Colnago from that era.
Nishiki still makes lovely steel frames these days, but I can't find the Japanese site any more, just the one with boring European market models

I had one of these. Almost the same except mine was 600 arabesque.
Absolutely loved it!
It now has a broken downtube due to some arse driving into me : ( -

I have a Jap's eye, but
if had an Eye for Japs I'd be into Nishiki
imho, more refined and certainly rarer than the ubiquitous Miyatas -

I completed last year's Eroica (and some other retro rides) on this great and rare Japanese bike from the early 1980s, very nicely made of light and strong Tange Champion tubing. Rides wonderfully responsive, tight and stable, even on 18% dirt & grit - or rather Strade Bianche - descents! Comes with Dura Ace chainset, shifters, derailleurs and brakeset, all in excellent condition. Nishiki saddle, SR seatpost, stem and handlebars (with shellac'ed bartape to match the headtube's dark red). Mavic wheels, Deore hubs, 600 headset.
Seat tube 58cm c-t
Top tube 56cm c-c
Frame has spots of surface rust but it's nothing serious, rather nice looking patina. One miniature ding in the top tube, hardly visible but you can feel it when you run a finger along it. Paintjob is a nice warm grey sparkly metallic. Chrome underneath. I am sorry to let this go really, but I've started to build a new steed for this year's L'Eroica so I have to make some space.
