Too much red on that Swiss Cross. Seatposts/stems should only be available in black or silver. Prefer the classic steel:

Of course, the classic is the best. I do like the new one too though.

Is this frame tig'd or fillet brazed (in the USA?)? It looks fillet brazed to me but I've read / heard both?
-
• #70310
Fillet brazed by Tom Ritchey himself in the U.S allegedly.

Why custom build at high expense a FGG style shonky brakless fixy bike?
-
• #70316
It's neither brakeless nor fixed
-

It's neither brakeless nor fixed
It is a FGG (foxed gear gallery) style fixy bike though.
70's style big clearance commuter frame; check
quill stem+risers; check
most significant feature is the colour; check
flat pedals foot retention; check
visually brakless/singlespeed/fixed; check
random expensive parts where they add no noticeable improvement to function or appearance; check
For what its worth I like this kind of bike in reality, but would prefer freewheel & conventional brake. I am also very glad it doesnt have bullhorns.

Get a front brake and you'll have: freewheel and conventional brake.
Still horrid to look at. -

Next to the S2C hub, my biggest gripe with that is clearances for fenders, with no braze-ons to accommodate them. That's the functional bullshit.
And I just hate how that crank looks. -

the De Rosa is a beauty - then you look at how (s)he glued the tubs - probably better to start again, no?
-
• #70322
Bad glue or not, I'd throw a leg over.
