SKS chromoplastic and P-clips - my 'Roller is pictured with these higher up in the thread, but here it is again, totally uncool with two brakes, bell and mudguards:
OT: how do you get your carradice to stay in shape? Mine looks like a saggy pair of undies when not full. Yours look pretty all nice and square.

Alright, still looking for one between 150-200.

To avoid a saggy baggy, use the Bagman support.
For ultimate fulsome squareness, put a rectangle of stiff cardboard in the base of the bag. Not actually cardboard, that stuff you spraymount posters onto, a bit like a estate agent's boards.
Keeping it full of useful/useless stuff also helps.

Thanks, I've got the Bagman QR, I'll be out looking for some corrugated plastic.

Just realised something, if i go for the option of a commuter and a track bike i would be much better off with a cross check, never really thought about getting one until now, just spotted the single-speed cross-check and looks really good
Mudguards, few small changes, sorted.

In layman's term; sell the steamroller and build the pompino you have already.
-
• #1337
Yeah that would be sensible wouldn't it, yet to sell my pompino just incase.
Failing in my attempt to not have to many bikes though, can barely move around in my shed, to many unfinished projects.

Edit: double posted.

Those that are, I was wondering what brake callipers you guys run on your steamrollers?
I have little experience with calliper brakes and im planning on building up a Steamroller.
Im gonna use cane creek barend levers if you're wondering -

It needs to be long reach. When I used brakes in the past I think I had a Shimano BR-R650 and it had very good stopping power.

poster/mounting board
Yes! That works. Got that tip off a CTC forum [blush] and it works for about a year before the board needs replacing.

@missmouse - I see you haz rack! I want a rack too - what is it?
-
• #1343
^ I do! And what a marvellous thing it is too.
It's an Axiom Streamliner (fitted with P-clips). A lot stronger than I imagined it would be.

What's the biggest tire size you can fit to a SR?
-
• #1345
Please.
-
• #1346
^ They can accommodate 700 x 38 I think.
-
• #1347
Yes according to http://surlybikes.com/bikes/steamroller:
Tire clearance: Room for tires up to 700 x 38mm. Individual tire and rim combos affect tire clearance, but figure on being able to use tires up to 32mm with fenders (p.s.- use clip-on fenders).

• #1348
Well, that's what they say... Would it fit 40c?

You can have a third of my bike for that!
