Woodrup 753 frames - Maurice never built them. His son Steve, now owner of Woodrup Cycles, was the only one with the Reynolds license for 753.

Oh... and another thing, there is no such thing as 753R - the R means it has been resprayed and that the Reynolds identification decals are not the ones that originally shipped with the tubeset.

Incorrect !
753R was 753** R**ace tubing
I've a Raleigh SBDU frame in 753R tubing.

I sometimes think 531 SL stood for Slightly Lighter. Good to have a little dredge sometimes, but ... This frame never sold, had to go to fleabay. It was gorgeous! Unbelievable no one here bought it. /sadface

Thanks Pubrunner, I stand corrected. I can only ever remember one version of 753 - senior moment!

531SL=531 Special Lightweight which in effect was drawn slightly thinner than normal 531 D/B...so the frame was indeed somewhat lighter......the 531SL frames required silver brazing too.
