alfine hub moved to the centre for better weight distribution, probably had to cut off the flanges to fit it inbetween
seen one in flesh made by superted for his 29er, impressive work (think there was/is one in lmnh too)

Think it's a Rohloff hub - the two control cables is the giveaway.

Looks like a riot anyhow.
