A cyclist has died after a collision with a car in Cornwall. The rider, who has been named locally as Matt Collings, aged 36, suffered serious injuries after colliding with a vehicle near St Austell and died at the roadside. Police were called to the A391 at Menear Road, between the Menear Roundabout and St Austell Cricket Club, at 7.05am yesterday. Mr Collings, who was said to live locally and work at the Eden Project, is the second cyclist to suffer fatal injuries this week. On Sunday another cyclist, John Phillips, aged 50, died after a collision at St Mabyn, near Wadebridge.
