No, I'm not confused. the OP clearly wanted an older nut fitment which is hardly ever referred to as a 'hex' (even though it is that shape). The term 'hex' is by far more common when talking about AK(allen Key) nuts.
The description does not match the actual photo of the item as they have put 'recessed nut' which is incorrect.
The old std nut is actually 10mm across in any case, not that it matters, either way the photo clearly shows the older style which is what the OP was after. You stand corrected
