  • That's the one, ta.

I think I was getting muddled up with Pedal Revolution. Unless I've just invented that name?

Aha, no, Pedal Revolution isn't a figment of your imagination, it's very real, and on Bethel Street. Not my personal favourite place, but I hear they do OK.

  • Been a spate of bike thefts recently, becoming a real problem in Norwich,

Balls, just what I didn't want to hear :-(

I always thought Norwich was pretty good in that respect. Perhaps it's just less dodgy than where I've been before.

  • Am I right in thinking Ped Rev are turning what used to be the till area into a coffee shop/waiting area?

Oh yes. Near the fire station.

  • The bars had Fizik black soft tape on them, fucked on the RHS thanks to wet leaves/obscured manhole cover interaction two days earlier.

Fingers x'd the insurance comes good, was it a standard Charge pin, or a Thomson one, I can't quite recall?...

I think they were probably SRAM carbon TT levers rather than the Cane Creek ones too, or at least, that's what I remember.... #nicebitoffraudforbettergearneverhurtanyone

It's pretty much used as a waiting area most of the time anyway isn't it! Takes bloody ages to get noticed in that place!

  • was it a standard Charge pin, or a Thomson Masterpiece one, I can't quite recall?...

    Fixed.

  • Ahh, yes, it's all coming back to me now...

  • On the thefts front, I think it's just because I've heard about more recently that it seems bad. They do say bike theft the only crime that occurs in Norwich, but although that is comforting to some, for people like us it's a pretty big deal. I still hate leaving my bike locked anywhere in town/

  • Only place I tend to lock up is Castle Meadow or St Stephens St. That tends to be in broad daylight though. Also not displaying any cutting edge, custom & bespoke carbon fibre parts like ^ caeraphym had stolen.

  • I need to build up another track bike for when I move back to the city. For now look out for a ti van nicholas. Will be sporting guards again before long.

I got burgled when I lived off Unthank Road. Woke up to find a yoof climbing out of my window. Little sod.

  • Coffee ride would be fab.

I have to say I am getting a little bit sick getting a wet arse, but I fit enough guards at work to have put me off them for life. Just googled that frame though, looks lovely; the 29er hardtail has slightly bent lines that make me go oddly weak at the knees

  • Norwich is getting a bit trife with theft, shits real now. Hell we even had the English Dickhead League here the other day, and I saw EDL sprayed on a wall. Whatevers going on with our fine city!

  • Sorry Mark, it's probably all us nasty London types... coming up here causing trouble, taking your jobs, stealing your women ( I wish ), coveting your shiny bikes etc... ;-)

  • I shall banish myself & all my filthy depraved brethren form your fine city forthwith.

Or at the very least, I'll keep an eye out for dodgy looking types with stolen bikes :-)

  • guy riding a fixed with red bullhorns carrying a broom handle in one hand on Stafford St this morning

  • The police had a crack down on theft a few years ago which seemed to make a difference but I guess things have changed a bit since then.

There is a locked cage in St Andrews car park for bikes. I've not used it but it might be better than on the streets at night.

  • The St Andrew's cage is indeed a wonderful lock up, until you find yourself leaning on the buzzer at silly o'clock with no attendants in attendance, stranded in the rain. Suppose that at least the bike is safe overnight, despite the inconvenience. Meh.

  • Small white frame (couldn't ID it as it was covered in multi-coloured Carhartt stickers), weird bent back risers, gold wheels, Schwalbe knobbly Speedway tyres, odd flat pedals with sandpaper grip pads, half-link chain, brakeless, spotted outside Tesco by the market.

  • apparently there's a couple of speedway tracks in norwich. Maybe they race?

  • Possibly Stu, looked a bit sketchy with the flat pedals/brakeless set up though.

Also spotted a black track frame, red bullhorns, front white deep v, black rim red tyre rear, running front brake locked at UEA. And a blue/white frame, white bullhorns, white deep v being WALKED down the Avenues by a guy in football kit.

  • Sparky on page 24 of this months Cycling Active!

  • HAH I was in December's issue. Who's going to make February?
