Wanted: a good samartian

I want to buy the Tektro r737 brakes set with a 6mm nut (not the modern allen key ones). I've found them online only in 2 places.
    Spacycles http://www.spacycles.co.uk/products.php?show=512
    ebay: http://tinyurl.com/cqwvyu9

the problem with Spacycles is that they do not answer their emails.
I've contacted them by email and they responded once (qoute for shipping to Austria) but they have not responded to any of my subsequent emails(I wanted to seal the deal).

the problem with the ebay shop is that it only delivers to the UK. I've tried asking them nicely but they refuse to ship to EU even though I have a very good reputation on ebay (no negative feedback ever).

So, I need a favour from someone. It can be anyone of these:

    1. does anyone know of an alternate email adress spacycles check other than sales@spacycles.co.uk ? Do they have a skype account?
if not, is there someone who plans to go there anyway and is willing to buy them and ship them for me (via Royal Air mail)? (i'd cover all the cost via paypal). Or just call them and tell them to check their email :D :D

2.is anyone willing to order the ones from ebay and ship them to me to Austria via Royal Air mail? I'd cover the costs via paypal

As you can see, I'm pretty desparate. I'd like to buy these but I cant find any other online seller in EU. I need the nutted mount version because I'd like to avoid drilling my bike to fit the allen key ones :)

    Tnx

  • Do we have to be martian?

  • lol :D I missed the spelling :D English is not my native tongue

  • its recessed mount. i'm looking for a 6mm mount. also called hex mount or nut fitting

  • I think I have a pair of these at home...

  • ^ scratch that... I have a pair of brand new r556s

    Like this: http://www.tokyofixedgear.com/products/16-Brake-Calipers/3297-Tektro---R556-Brake-Caliper-Pair/

  • Order from Spa cycles, or ebay, get them to send the brakes to me. I will post them to you, you can paypal me the postage.
    simple

  • Don't buy from Spa Cycles!

  • Why ever not?

  • its recessed mount. i'm looking for a 6mm mount. also called hex mount or nut fitting

You're getting confused, it can't be a 6mm nut mount as well as been a recessed hex mount, what you described is the two differing fittings.
Either you want a 6mm nut mount for the older bike, or
you want the allen key hex recessed type
the one I linked to is the nut variant which you wanted that you linked to at Spa and on ebay in your opening psot.
The nut is clearly shown in the picture.

  • I think you're getting confused. The hex he's refering to is actually the 6mm nut. See the description on the ebay item for clarification.

6mm standard hexagon nut fixing brake calipers

  • No, I'm not confused. the OP clearly wanted an older nut fitment which is hardly ever referred to as a 'hex' (even though it is that shape). The term 'hex' is by far more common when talking about AK(allen Key) nuts.
The description does not match the actual photo of the item as they have put 'recessed nut' which is incorrect.
The old std nut is actually 10mm across in any case, not that it matters, either way the photo clearly shows the older style which is what the OP was after. You stand corrected
