Well if Polco is right and Aberdeen is making zero cash off the North Sea Oilfields it's another big leg-up to independence for Scotland as it means they cannot be dependent on that income.
I came up to Aberdeen 2 years ago and I was actually surprised by how run down it looked for the Oil and Gas capital of Europe (I was living in Market St at the time). From what I can gather, some oil money does make it into the city but I think it isn't very well managed by the local council, the rest of the oil money goes to Westminster
Oh and I still haven't met anyone who wanted the golf course
