  • Possibly, if they are all funded by southwark council.

I believe that the way that it works is that Fusion enter into a partnership arrangement with the council- Fusion refit the place, put in new machines and so on, then having made that fairly significant investment into the council property they proceed to trouser all the cash that they generate through membership fee's etc.

  • ^ do the council then fuck around and do very little? Except perhaps hold interminable meetings on whether or not their main lobby should be re-painted biscuit beige or dove grey.

  • I believe the council then have zero input on matters until such time as the lease expires, at which point the interminable mettings kick off in earnest.

  • ^ sans biscuits to demonstrate their earnestness in budget control?

Seriously though this is looking more and more like I need to find someone who works for Virgin :(

  • Where abouts do you want to go to the gym?

I looked at Virgin Active when my place of work moved to right next to one, could not justify the cost in the end.

However, if a Sauna is a pre-requisite then they may be one of the only options.

  • I heard TS uses a top class ass master

  • Fitness First. ok they may not be great but they have advantages, mainly loads of sites across London that you can use and pretty much all the ones I've ever been too have sauna's and steam rooms.

  • May I ask why you want a gym membership? You can get very fit and strong without one

  • If anyone is interested in keeping fit. Why not try these guys.

Ex military trainers. Definitely recommended. Cater for all levels of fitness.

  • el BUMPO!

I am looking for a gym in either London Bridge or Deptford/Greenwich sorta areas.
Not a prison gym, not a health spa. Just somewhere where normal people exercise for fitness.
    Requirments are;
    Cardio machines.
    Free weights area.
    Spinning classes.
    Yoga classes.
Greasey rub downs by large Russian men. (*This may or may not be a joke)
Not too fussed about a pool or sauna business.

    Anyone got a recommendation...?
