Hi Guys, Didnt even know this thread existed!! Here is my freshly painted Olmo, Pics are a bit grubby... as is the bike after a quick blast from birmingham to stratford! Enjoy!
I know some of the finishing kit requires upgrading but this is going to be a slow process due to having a pile of bikes requiring attention!!

I don't own an Olmo !
But I used to !
I bought an Olmo Competition, in Columbus SL, in 1984. The frame cost me £195.
I built it up with Campagnolo Super Record kit, Mavic rims, 3TTT bars and stem. It weighed 19lbs, which was very light for the time.
I used it for road racing and TT's. I won eight road races in a row on that bike. And a number of TT's too.
I loved that bike. Bloody perfect !

Back from the dead....
This is currently on eBay, it's only the fourth Olmo Scatto SLX I've ever seen, and I own two of them :0) Very sweet bike.
While I'm here, if anyone knows where you can source stickers for a early 90's one like pictured, please let me know. I have already tried H Lloyd Cycles and Cyclemondo on eBay.
More detailed pics here.

Just joined club Olmo with this Nos SuperLight in ego tubing. Mahoosive chainstays + fastback seatstays ftw. St - 57ct, tt - 56cc.
Thinking of building it up with 2011 Athena11 group(alloy cranks and levers) but unsure of wheels and contact points at the mo.. -

I will put up pics next week when i can... -

Hi! I've never owned an OLMO but judging from this catalogue of great shots and info, it must be a desirable frame to go for. What is the least that I could expect to spend on an entry level OLMO FRAME (55CM) non-carbon?

Mate I picked up my frame for just over £200 from a seller on this forum.

First post guys!
You'll hopefully see attached my restored Olmo Scatto. Haven't slaved to authenticity - just built it how I'd like it!
I ignored all web-based advice & sprayed it myself - never again (it's hard & expensive). Greg at Cyclemondo did a great job providing the decals (not exact period for the frame, but I'm happy) and even produced the "scatto" decal from scratch.
Will produce better photos when it gets warmer/brighter - may even sweep the floor outside as well!
Hope this is of interest. Cheers

Nice :0)
If you ever manage to source any 'correct' decals please let me know! I'm assuming it originally had the same as my bike a few posts up there ^^, with the decals in white with smatterings of gold.
I can only find very limited details of Olmo Scattos on the world wide web. Do you know the year yours was built? What's the rear spacing, 126mm or 130mm?
Questions, questions, questions!

Thanks! You're right about the transfers, the originals were the newer type - white with gold. 1990-1994 is my guess on age of the frame - given it's "SLX New" tubing and had downtube gear tensioners rather than the downtube shifters I've fitted. Rear spacing is 130mm, suggesting later I guess. I'd be interested if anyone had any dates for "SLX New" tubing?
If you really need the original decals, Greg at Cyclomondo could make them. He did the scatto decal from scratch for me (from a photo) at a great price and in next to no time!
All the best!
I can assure you they're not. Its just the angle of the bike and the camera
