I think Bojo gave the go ahead for motorised bikes to use them same as cycle lanes, i dont know if the allowance was ever removed and if it was it was very poorly advertised.
On another note - was driving a van the other day (moving) drove straight into a ASL..so used to being in them on my bike didn't even occur to me what I was doing.
Wife commented maybe the folks in them in cars/vans ect are all cyclist like me who forgot about not being in them when driving..did feel a prat though!
