Powertap (Shimano/Sram) / Ambrosio / DT Swiss Wheelset - With Minor Problem.

Front Wheel;

Ambrosio Excellence Rim (32h)
DT Swiss 340 Classic Hub (32h)
DT Swiss Aerolite Bladed Spokes (16x Black / 16x White)

Rear Wheel;

Ambrosio Excellence Rim (32h)
Cycleops Powertap Comp Hub (32h)
DT Swiss Aerolite Bladed Spokes (32x Black)

Wheels run true, have good tension and minimal wear to braking surfaces.

HOWEVER; The Powertap has recently stopped giving out a reading to the head unit - This MAYBE just down to need a couple of new batteries, or it may need a service (Available through Paligap UK).

The front hub bearings are as smooth as butter; the rear are perfectly usable but a touch notchy - no play when fitted though.

Given the fact this wheelset could just need some batteries, or is otherwise useble as a beautiful Shimano/Sram Wheelset I am selling as being a functioning wheelset, however the electrical side of things must be classed as SPARES OR REPAIRS.

How old is the hub? And is the head unit included? Thanks

If it's just dodgy batteries, replace them and sell it for a lot more. If it's the usual corroded contacts then it will probably need a Paligap service and unless it's under warranty this will be £450 worth of torque tube replacement.

You get about 200-300 hrs runtime from batteries and it is a 30 second job with batteries from the corner shop.
