  • I like that their reasoning is that 70% break the law, so its gives an unfair advantage to those that don't. Start catching the ones that do then!
    The way DfT describe it :
    DfT statistics on monitored free-flow roads estimate that around 70% of HGVs currently travel over 40 mph and it is argued that these HGVs have an unfair competitive advantage over those who stick to the speed limit.
    I'm sure cycle couriers could develop a parallel argument.
