I went for an evening ride today. I saw 12 other cyclists. 2 of them had lights. What the fuck?

^ me and theo just rode home from easts and barely saw any cyclists with lights

What's the etiquette here? I came across a rider the other day, heading down the outside of a lane of traffic, coming towards me and about to turn right across a x-roads.
He could see me - I'm covered in blinkies and a chest-light, but I had no idea about him until I was pretty close. So I told him to get some lights and he turned around to give me an earful about "minding my own business" (although not quite that politely)
Clearly he was a dick, but do you ever call out unlit riders?

And what's with these dim green led front lights some people are sporting? whoever thought that was a good idea?

Seeing a lot with a crappy rear light and no front lights at the moment. Makes pulling out at junctions fun.

It always happens when the clocks fall back.... I wonder if you could turn the post count in this thread into a graph against time of year, bet theres a peak at this time of year.

What does anyone make of these? Was thinking about getting some for the commute. My Knogs aren't cutting it.

I like(d) my pair*. They're light, bright-ish and the USB charging is pretty handy, as long as you make sure to pop the charging dongle on your keyring and not lose it.
The front one only lasts just short of two hours on max brightness, and even then it's not hugely bright. It's fine as long as you simply want it for visibilty rather than hoping to light up pitch black country roads at 15mph+. I had to buy a proper man's light for the Dunwich Dynamo, for example.
Road.cc benchmarked it against proper man lights, here:

*The rear one pinged off somewhere in London a few months ago. sob

Not cheap but one of the best rear lights I have ever seen is the Exposure Red Eye. If you have one of the rechargable piggy back batteries it lasts for hours

I know this has been posted already, but I am wondering if I really would feel like a player in Tron, as much as I think I would. probably not after a minute or so..

RLJ peeps, Y U NO HAVE LIGHTS? I nearly took out 3 of you belters as you charged across me in the middle of a cross roads in heavy fast moving cross-traffic. You ride like fools.
They were fluro/helmet/hybridengers, sketchiest move I've seen in years.

idiot on a decent road bike, sidi shoes, swerve shorts, expensive courier bag...
a few weeks ago i saw him riding with only a front light on and commented
yesterday saw the same chap and pointed out his rear light was not on "yeah mate it stopped working a while back"
i could not even summon the will say to him "if you have a bike that is worth at least £1000, expensive cycling accessories, can you really not afford or understand the need for a fucking rear light?"

Did you order them from their website? Was going to order some but it might be less hassle to just pick them up when I'm in America over Christmas as they are made in Pittsburgh (where I'm from).
Anyone else got a set of Fiks reflective stickers? My rear wheel now looks like this in direct bright light: http://instagram.com/p/QTAjZ8Phf6/

OK twats, it's time to take your lights out with you when you ride your bike! The nights are drawing in, but tons of riders seem to think they're visible after 8. You're not.

Saw a bloke on a Bianchi on Derham Road at 9pm, no lights. Who spends over a grand on a bike and nothing on lights?
