• BBC is reporting that Shane Sutton, the head coach for GB cycling has been involved in an accident in Manchester and has "bleeding on the brain".

No other details that I can find at the moment.

Here's hoping it isn't as serious as it sounds and he can make a full and speedy recovery.

Here's wishing for a full and swift recovery.

  • Crazy days. Get well soon.

  • Terrible. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

  • Bizarre turn of events. Best wishes to him.

  • This sounds much worse than Bradley's bash. Wishing Shane gets through it ok and heals up quick.

  • TS took the words out of my mouth, what a bizzare turn of events.

Lets hope Shane gets through this and has a speedy recovery.

  • Very strange series of events all this.

    GWS Shane!

  • All best wishes to Mr Sutton!

  • I cannot believe this!

Get well soon Mr Sutton! Unreal.

  • Gotta say, I used to train with Shane, and he is the hardest bastard that ever lived. As well as an incredibly classy bike rider. Awesome talent and hard as nails. I don't doubt he'll be back to his scary best ! Get well soon Shane !

Hoping for full recovery for both Shane and Bradley. Get well soon guys.

  • Wiggo and Sutton are both part Aussie. They'll heal up quick and continue kicking arse.

  • Heal up coach.
Hope this gives you all in the B.C camp plenty more ammunition to direct at the m.p.s.

  • I ride that stretch Shane Sutton got knocked off on my commute, the London equivalent of that stretch would be green lanes maybe, it's a stinker, full of pot holes and angry people who think cyclists are just people who can't afford cars
