Mind boggling.
Hmmmm? Ok then....
Cretin.
Cross post mini-rant from the Epic Fail thread:
What I love about the Donald Trump rants is his bit about having a revolution because Obama lost the popular vote but won the electoral vote.
Firstly, Obama is currently about 2.5m voters ahead of Romney (without Florida) which means he was wrong in the first place.
Secondly, the actual phenomenon of winning without winning has only happened four times in American history with the most recent being Bush's inaugural victory in 2000 when he won with 271 electoral votes but only 47.87% of the vote (Gore had 48.38%).
This means the only example, in living memory, of this "travesty" actually got a Republican into the White House.

Bobbo - they would be unelectable without the Hispanic vote - demographically they rely on the middle aged affluent white men and women . They would have to change to get elected in the same way that the Tories here lost three elections because they'd shifted to the Eurosceptic right. The Tories now are a 'triumph' of marketing.
Is that true? I'm not massively up on US politics but from a map to me it looks like Republicans hold the large backwoods type areas of the state and most states with major industrial, capital, or economic centre tend to be republican.
Re Tories I think your stretching a bit there. The country was tired and wanted a change. There was no credible opposition and then Blaire appeared. Then the country got tired and there was a credible opposition and it got voted in.

Well they weren't exactly voted in as they didn't get a majority despite a shambolic campaign from Labour. I may have been stretching the point there but think it was 3 am or thereabouts so forgive me.
I stand by my point about the Republicans though - they won't get elected in future through the electoral colleges without engaging with the Hispanic vote - simple demographics. The likely engager will be Jeb Bush who is married to a Mexican woman or even more likely their son George P Bush who is being groomed. I heard a scurrilous but reliable anecdote today that that branch of the family is called the 'Brown Bushes' by Barbara Bush (George H's wife and Dubya's mother the family matriarch.) Sweet family ! -
