The ambulance stabilised him but they're not moving him for along time.

My thoughts are with the rider

Saw this on my way home around 18.50 a hundred metres or so before the petrol station on the left hand side.
Didn't look good with multiple emergency vehicles in attendance and others heading to the scene.
Thoughts are with the rider.

Ed, please refrain from making posts like that.
Facts are fine but that kind of crap does not help any one. -

Twitter only report accident on A24, no news so far.

my own accident was just 100 yards up on the other side of that petrol station. horrible road. traffic goes much too fast along there and cars are pulling out on you from all sides / pulling u-turns in the middle of the road.
hope the rider is doing ok.

If this is the same incident I've heard about at work, I know the rider, and he'll be OK.
Anyway, did anyone get the reg of the assailant?

I don't think anyone did, it was too dark for them to catch the regs of the hit and run driver.

that's a damn shame, and no apparent CCTV either, in the borough with the most cameras per capita, in the city with the most in the world.... big brother fail.
Heading southbound on the wide fast strip,.
