BOB JACKSON 531 Complete bike

Very light frame 531, decals fading, scratched and a few chips but still a lovely frame, all cosmetic damage apart from a slight dint from a derailleur clamp. Campag dropouts.

C-C 57/58cm, C-T 57cm

Components:

Cinelli Crit bars and stem with condor brake lever and dark brown leather brooks tape. superb condition.

Sugino Cranks 47 teeth.

Campag pedals.

San Marco Rolls Saddle

Hardly ridden Challenge Forte tyres on handbuilt wheels with miche hubs, again superb condition.

Buckeroo, I'm quietly confident I'll get something close to that selling on ebay in Cambridge. Admittedly the frame isn't in glorious condition, but its built with nice stuff.

They're are plenty of mugs on eBay so maybe... But you can't have it on here and on eBay at the same time, thems the rules.

Nice parts (your words not mine) are still worth much less than you bought them for... It's wirth about £300 at best.

For now it's on here for £400 (a fair bit less than i built it for) with offers for bits welcome incase I end up splitting.

If the bits and bob just ain't shifting, It'll be going on ebay. And you never know, I might just tempt an ebay 'mug' to pay 65.5% of what I paid for it....I can only dream.

Buckeroo - I think it is perfectly reasonable of people to post an opinion about price... but for fuck's sake, make your point and leave it. At best your point is 'market price is ebay price - this is the place to sell your bike if you want the buyer to have a bargain'.

Gut feel is that it is worth £300 - £350 all day long (on here or anywhere), quite possibly £50-100 more to someone to whom the bike is just right or who is not confident building their own bike. Therefore £400-£450 is an entirely reasonable asking price - you can always not buy it or make an offer if it is too much.

And it'd probably be better value at £500 than 90% of brand new bikes are at RRP.
