reminds me of the first beer festival i went to
wigan beer festival 1989 got the ptogranmme with all beers listed
started off all keen, careful notes neat handwriting, accurate detailed descriptions of malty / hoppy taste
looking at it the following morn in my room i halls of residence i think i could read my handwriting up till about the 4th pint ( there were a couple of 8%'ers drunk quite early on ) from there on, spiders walking across the page would be quite a good description, and i'll be damned if i could read a word of it
subsequent beer festivals i just sampled the beers and did less of the note taking ! -

You ever have the Battersea Brewery Porter? That was tasty. You're right about Meantime. Though anything Fullers produce has that slight taste of cardboard.

I haven't tried the Meantime porter, but their IPA is fucking rubbish.
-
• #1205
Their best is still the coffee beer.

Agreed. The meantime London pale ale is dull as dishwater. Their wheat beer on draught though is utterly fantastic....

Wallington Beer festival on Saturday for me, proper locals there... it's like a freak spotting nirvana, while having some rather fine local ales (50 mile radius I think)

Hackney Brewery, Pale Ale. Spent yesterday supping this at the BFF Polo tourney. Tasted great. In future, I'd even part with your actual cash money for it.

heh, no, it's it's own place... same borough though.
I never use croydon in my address I use Addiscombe. sounds much nicer

^^bought a bottle of poachers choice the other day. Bleurgh. Do not want. Tastes like summer fruits cordial.
Currently drinking McEwans Champion. Next up two bottles of bred dog double ipa 9.2%. Tramp beers!

An acquired taste I reckon. I just seem to have acquired it rather quickly ;-)

I have previous with summer fruits favouring, it offends me deeply! I just chose it for the name to be honest but I much prefer Blandford Flyer.

Tis good, just about to open the first double ipa, Tasty and strong, mostly strong!

Good luck! If I have anything that strong nowadays, all I can taste is vomit & pain.
