Ok well as the Gulliver's thing is probably not really going to be a fixie ride, this ought to be. Even if it's on another Sunday ...
Btw Bern who is the Dean? Huh? I don't geddit.
But I'm in for the 17th. Will start a thread shortly if people wants.
Good man. Please do go for the Sunday, the 18th, as I know a few people cannot do Oxford, and would I am sure love the Cambridge Ride.
The dean is Jonathan Swift, author of Gullivers Travels, who studied at Hertford College, 300 plus years ago.
The comments about brakes being obligatory, and riders being wary of fixed on the Oxford ride, was based on last years experiences. It was a stunning ride visually, and a wonderful crew, but some of the leaf covered desents, with impatient BMW's not being able to wait 500 metres before overtaking, or chopping in on us, in front of oncoming traffic, did make for a proper test of bike skills.
