2012-11-01 - Rider Down, Lea Bridge Road

Just (16.45) cycled back to Hackney from Walthamstow. Lea Bridge road has been taped off (from Clapton roundabout to about halfway down North Millfields recreation ground) due to a cyclist being knocked down by a car.

I spoke to an officer and she said that the accident had happened at about 13.30 today and they were waiting for news from the hospital (she wasn't sure of the rider's condition or how the accident had occurred). The car, which the officer said was involved (a small sedan), was still in the middle of the road and appeared to have a wing mirror knocked off.

I Really hope the rider is ok and any further information would be appreciated.

The same place where I got knocked off on purpose, hope the riders will recover.
