Lots of horny looking stags there this afternoon, and the wind was equally ferocious. Me and a mate were drafting each other for a lap and a half, then I went on ahead for the rest, so not a time I can count, but I'm fairly confident I can beat my solo time by a few minutes on a calm day.

That's a picture of a wheel. Here's the petition. Mind you, if this goes forward won't the roads in there get swamped by bloody cyclists every Sunday?

dodge the family walking 4 abrest with kids running sideways about not looking behind them

I tweeted it this morning and it's been retweeted 12 times, but the number of signatories has only risen by a similar number. I hope there's a lag?

Will always be a bit controversial to try to align the park in favour of any of the multiple activities going on there no?
-
• #1663
We could have a designated day for each activity. I wonder which day suits these lot best.

easily the most annoying entity to pass on the road

No brainer as in you haven't actually thought about it?
I think this is an unrealistic and selfish proposal. Cars are already limited to 20 and commercial vehicles forbidden. Block people from reaching the car parks and cut out the trough traffic enjoying going the pretty way and the park will be of benefit to far fewer people. Between the deer, the slower cyclists, the pedestrians and their dogs, the roller skiers, etc, this is not the place for closed-road cycle racing, and certainly not on half of its peak days.
-
• #1667
But no cars will slow you down.
-
• #1668
I'd sign it if there was a day given over to car racing round the park as well... Ie sunday for cyclists, Saturday's for cars?
... Ban pedestrians for both days (which means no getting off your bike on Sunday)

I would sign a No Dyanamo Day petition.
We could do with a stag-free thursday too.

Apparently the Royal Parks Foundation pushed for this once before. I think the whole park should be closed to cars. In fact, I think that London should be closed to cars.

To going under an hour? I know - I didn't know I was close until I pulled out my phone to stop the time right at end and I'd just passed the hour mark by then. Since my last attempt a year ago I've lost over 2 minutes; I think that's what's known as marginal gains.
Just last week I had a stag run close alongside me for about half the distance from Ham gate to Kingston gate. Equally majestic and unnerving.
