Unscrew the nuts on either side. You'll see the face of the sealed bearings. A smart tap with either a rubber mallet or a hammer on the axle (using a piece of wood to protect the facing of your wheel) will knock the bearing free from one side of the hub, allowing the axle to drop out.
To replace, put the axle in, place the bearing into the hub and tap into place with apiece of wood and the hammer.It's pretty simple, five minute job.

nice one! i did think that and had a go last night. but wanted to be sure. will hit it a bit harder this time. is there any particular side which i must hit or does it not matter? thanks

Doesn't matter which side.
need to remove my front axel but un sure how to? do i need to 1st take out the sealed bearings? its a BLB hub? cheers
