  • hi
I am looking for a Neutron/Proton rear wheel with campag hub used /new !!!?

    Thanx

  • Me too!

  • I have a pair of protons if that helps...

  • I have a pair of Nucleons here, 4th item: https://www.lfgss.com/thread90930.html

  • Hi Ndeipi, I saw them but thought I had missed the boat. So can you still deliver them? I'll let nixfix get in touch first as the thread starter, but I'm interested.

Zender, price, condition, photos? definitely interested.

What's the difference between the Nucleons and the Protons?

  • I can still deliver them, yes. All parts are held at CasaSteve's place and he's kindly posting them for me as & when they sell.

Not sure on exact differences, but apparently Nucleon wheels can only handle 9/10 speed, not 11.

Yes I could be interested ...what is the condition age price etc
    Any pics

    how much money???

  • Campagnolo Nucleon 9/10 speed wheels
These bad boys were once top of the line Campagnolo climbing / all-rounder wheels. They have been obviously well looked after, as the photos show. They can handle 9 and 10 speed Campagnolo groupsets, but apparently not 11 speed, and their weight is about 1590g without skewers or rim tape. I've tried to photograph the rim wear as best I can. For what it's worth, they did 22 laps of Swains Lane and performed beautifully. £245 posted £225 posted £195 posted.

    .

  • I will let you know by the end of the day...thanx again.

  • How much use have they had ??

  • I tried to take a picture of the brake track, and the slight concavity. New brake tracks are obviously flat, shagged ones are very concave. These show some use but I don't know how many miles. They came on a bike which I cannibalised for the groupset, and this bike was generally in pretty tip-top condition from a guy who knows how to maintain things, so I'd happily use these wheels.

If you use Kool Stop Salmon brake pads, you'll never wear through the rims because they're non-aggressive, so it doesn't matter how worn they are. That's what I always do anyway, saves on thinking!

  • Sorry mate but going to give it a miss thanx .

  • Change of plan thanx tho.

  • No worries, good luck with the project. I just did a complete project U-turn myself, thankfully right before the £280 CRC order.

Anyone else fancy a go at my Nucleons? (Not a euph.)
