It will have to have a micro usb port for data transfer so you will be able to charge as normal.

I just don't care.
My Desire Z is slowly dieing. It no longer knows how to be silent. It crashes daily. No amount of fresh installs have helped it. I have a feeling that I am now seeing the long term damage from the toilet submersion episode.
I have decided that I NEED a Nexus in my life.

The new Nexus tablets finally have multi-account support.
You can log out, and someone else login... and their apps, their preferences, their contacts.. all of their stuff is just there.
Then they log out, and you login, and all of your stuff is there.
Finally the missing feature on a tablet has arrived.

I want to leave Apple, I want the Nexus, but i want more than 8gb
leak/gossip sites are saying that the first version will only be 8gb (& No card slot), and that a 16gb will be released at a later date.
*Edit looks like 16gb will be available from launch ;)

Is this going to come as a software update?
Or have to buy a new Nexus 10 to get it?

The One V looks pretty nice... Think I'll go out for a bit of a window shop this lunchtime...
The Desire Z is an awesome phone, still miss it...you're not trusted to change the battery and you can't add memory. If you ;ike the one V just go S3.

Got an update today to Jelly bean in my Samsung G3.
Is there any noticeable difference between this and the last OS?blocking mode it the most obvious thing I can see thus far.

£279 for the 16GB strikes me as a pretty good price.

HTC J butterfly is destined for these shores isn;t it?
HTC is the sh*t. Oh no wait, I meant sh*t. They where good as SPV but slowly everything went wrong until this piece of crap I have been stuck with for over 2 years now; Desire HD. Why they insist on shitty skins and making hardware that seems to have a working like of 5 minutes before it dies I don't know.
In the last week Orange have sent me no less than 3 replacement desire HD's due to them being sh*t and not working out of the box.
Still, better than owning an iPhone.

Quite glad I didn't pull the trigger on the Galaxy Nexus deal on Expansys a few weeks ago... I'm definitely getting a 16GB LG Nexus 4 :)

Software update in 4.2 to tablets only.
Will probably only be exposed on Nexus tablets though, as other Android tablets that have been skinned may not have the hooks in the skin to expose it.

Galaxy Nexus still a very capable phone in my book. Gutted about LG getting the Nexus.

What does it actually have that the Samsung doesn't? More cores?

http://www.theverge.com/products/compare/2946/6274
Nexus 4 has:
1GB more RAM
2 more CPU cores
less storage (depending on model)
3 more megapixels in the camera
slightly larger battery
4 more pixels per inch
An IPS screen (brighter colour, but some ghosting on high contrast long running apps)
Later version of BluetoothEverything else = much the same.
As I've said a grillion times, the differentiator isn't the hardware it is the software. And Android 4.2 will come to the Galaxy Nexus so there is no need to get the Nexus 4 if you already have a Nexus phone.
If you don't have a Nexus phone, then this new Nexus rules the roost as it will likely receive software updates farther into the future than any other phone on the market... so it represents a very safe bet.
The differences in hardware are so subtle that unless you have a compelling reason, save your money... Galaxy Nexus is still a great phone.

^ yeah
quadcore 1500mhz Snapdragon, mainly

• #9297
How power efficient is it compared to dual core? One-X chews juice.
-
• #9298
The CPU is pretty power efficient, but most power savings are in the screen technology and the OS. Both of which have been updated. The other big power saving is in not running any manufacturer or network background apps... just getting off the HTC Android will give you more battery.
The Nexus 4 is claimed to have 10 hours talk time and 250 hours standby (10 days!).
Both of those won't be achievable in real-world multi-tasking with the screen coming on and off and networking being used... but they're basically promising longer battery life than any other Android phone with the Nexus 4.
I'm sure once it's available a lot of sites will be putting those power claims to the test.

hmm so I have reserved a nexus 7 16GB for £169 at a currys today to collect, can anyone distract me from buying it? I will owe you a pint.
I am a designer and an apple-head ...

It's a truly awesome device.
If you're not into iTunes and don't have all your music invested in Apple... then the Nexus really comes alive and doesn't restrict you.
It just gets even better if you use Gmail and Google Calendar.
I'll buy you a pint if you buy it.
GS3 has it but no official charger yet.
